How to Give Back by Doing Your Taxes

This post is sponsored by 1040 taxes, but all opinions are my own.

What time of year is it? Yes, it’s getting closer to spring. But you may be forgetting that it is tax season!

Maybe that’s a season only a personal finance blogger can get excited about. The reality is most of us don’t look forward to doing taxes. It can be complicated, messy, and time-consuming. But the good news is that there are ways to make filing taxes easier and simpler, and do some good for the world while you’re at it.

If you haven’t filed your taxes yet, I highly recommend looking at filing on 1040.com.

1040 makes filing taxes simple, easy, and as fun as filing taxes can be. On top of that, they donate $2 to Healing Waters International for each return filed through them. Healing Waters International provides clean drinking water to those who don’t have access to clean drink. Even if you file a free simple tax return, 1040 still donates money! Who knew doing your taxes could help others in need?

Y’all. I have to talk about this mission for a minute. In developing countries, nearly 80% of illnesses are due to unsanitary water. And not only that, but many children spend their days traveling for miles to get clean water instead of going to school! I don’t know about you, but I take access to clean water for granted, so if simply filing my taxes can help others gain access to clean water, I’m all for it.

Though I am a *little* behind on completing my taxes this year, I have started the filing process with 1040. This is my first year with freelance income, and I was nervous about filing online, but 1040 has made it super easy.

I also love that, even though I’m not finished with my taxes yet, I can estimate how much I will receive for a refund via their free return calculator.

I’ve been filing my taxes online since I graduated college, and I am so glad to know that this year, I can save time and make a difference. If you’re looking for an easy-to-use service, I highly recommend you check out 1040.com

You can find 1040.com on FacebookTwitter, and Instagram.
